ALEXANDER MCQUEEN: A CONVERSATION BETWEEN SARAH BURTON & SARAH MOWER JANUARY 2019

I was selected to be one of five students to represent Manchester School of Art, to join a small group of 'emerging talent' from the top fashion universities,  for the opening of the Alexander McQueen Flagship Store Exhibition.

I attended an intimate meeting and conversation between the creative director of Alexander McQueen, and world renowned Vogue critic. During the intimate talk between the creative director Sarah Burton and Vogue journalist Sarah Mower, we were personally walked through the intricate creative process from research to finished garments. It was a truly unforgettable experience which focused on my desire to work within a similar creative dynamic for a high-fashion brand.

Read about the experience on Vogue:

'Deep research is central to Burton’s process, as it was to McQueen’s, so it makes sense that rather than follow the trend for in-store cafes, the top floor is home to a community-building experiential space intended to foster emerging talent through programs for students throughout England.'
